Mary Gibbons Stevens

Mary Gibbons Stevens is an experienced attorney who has been practicing law for more than 35 years.

Attorney Stevens graduated from Providence College and Suffolk University Law School, cum laude, and completed training with the Institute for Special Education Advocacy at William & Mary Law School  She served as an Assistant District Attorney for Norfolk County and Suffolk County, Massachusetts, where she handled the most sensitive cases involving child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.  Attorney Stevens also worked for the law firm Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy and Kenney in Boston where her practice focused on representing physicians, hospitals and other health care providers in medical malpractice litigation.  While in private practice, Attorney Stevens worked as a court investigator for care and protection matters in the district courts of Massachusetts.  Since starting her law practice in Maine, she has advocated for the educational rights of children with disabilities in special education and disciplinary matters.  She is a rostered Guardian ad Litem in the State of Maine and her practice is now focused on serving as a Guardian ad Litem in child protection cases.

Attorney Stevens is admitted to practice law in Maine and Massachusetts.  She holds an “AV Preeminent” Rating (5.0 of 5.0) the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings of attorneys.

Mary serves her community as an elected member of the Kittery Town Council, and as a member of the Town of Kittery Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
